The onsens, particularly the outdoor pools are wonderful, well maintained with plenty of space for many people. Good sauna too. We were amazed at how well everything worked at this large hotel receiving big numbers of bus tourists every day. Staff were unfailingly helpful and efficient The buffet food service was astonishingly well managed by cheerful staff and ticketed times for guests. The wide array of foods, at both dinner and breakfast was amazing and the quality is excellent and generous: eg small very good steaks cooked for you or Ghengis Khan pots to cook as wished. We had never stayed at such a place before but enjoyed it all for 4 days. A good base for hiking and exploring this part of Daisetsuzan National Park as the gorgeous autumn colours descend from the mountain rooftops. Highly recommend the cable car, chair lift and walk to the top of Mt Kurodake followed by a relaxing onsen session!

We stayed here two nights. Our Japanese style room was very large and comfortable, with a wonderful view of the mountainside and river below. Both onsen were gorgeous, with lots of space, large indoor and outdoor soaking pools, sauna and relaxing seating. Dinner and breakfasts were self service buffets. We are vegetarian and found enough to eat, although more fruit and salads would have been nice. The hotel is situated a 5 min walk from the cable car station for exploring Mt Kurodake. There are also waterfall walks nearby, and is ideal for travelling further into the National Park.

Hotel is ten minutes away from the ropeway. It's a very big hotel, with an impressive lobby and a lounge. Rooms are a bit small, but we slept listening to the sound of the river right below us. The onsen facilities are one of the best ones we've stayed. Both dinner and breakfast are buffet-style, with many different options to choose from. Very good value for money. They have a small shop on the ground floor, where you can buy local products and souvenirs.

View out the hotel window was amazing, had the sound of the river flowing and full view of it. Buffet spread for dinner was great, amazing egg mayo and variety was huge. Breakfast was a little less wonderful but still has enough variety to make it all good. Facilities were decent and more traditional old school style but still felt very clean and proper. I love onsen!

Due to travel issues we were unable to check in on our booked date. The hotel shifted our dates without us asking and at no extra cost so that we wouldn’t miss out on the night we’d booked. This was very thoughtful and although we couldn’t take advantage of this it was excellent customer service.
